Does networking really work?

She Enjoys Success Summit

What an extraordinary day at Vivienne Joy’s Success Summit!

On a cold winter’s day, around 80 female entrepreneurs gathered at the historic Wicksteed Park, a childhood haunt for local founder of She Enjoys, Vivienne Joy.

There's nothing quite like the energy you feel in a room full of inspirational ladies anticipating a packed day of wisdom, networking, storytelling and life-affirming knowledge sharing.

The line-up of speakers from both the UK and overseas was a real treat for us. Hearing how so many women had overcome adversity with their strong mindsets, determination, belief in themselves and faith gave us golden nuggets to take forward into our own lives to help us bring about change.

The interactive presentations helped us understand the power of both the spoken and written word.

My top take-aways were

  1. from Vivienne herself, “Speak to yourself the way you would speak to a loved one” we’re so often not very kind to ourselves so we need to offer up a little self-love

  2. from Susan Royle “Schedule time for yourself for a calming, focusing, daily meditation” Life is so busy and it’s good to take a few moments each day for self-care

  3. from Kristin Cripps “It's never too late to change direction to gain what you really want in life” this one was so poignant for me as I look towards a new future for myself

  4. from Nicola Creen, such a passionate lady “Believe you are deserving, believe you are worthy” We often struggle to believe in ourselves, even though deep down we know we have more to give - have the confidence to take those next steps.

  5. from Kelly Walker “You have the power to manifest what you most focus on” do you find when you anticipate something negative happening it does? Try and turn it round and focus on positive things to bring more joy into your life.

  6. from Yvonne Michelle What a voice!! learning to speak in public gives you the opportunity to share your knowledge and she gave us a song - blown away

  7. surround yourself with inspirational women and network your socks off.

  8. consume self-development books and podcasts -  there's always something new to learn.

Yes, networking really does work!

If you have stories from your networking events you’d like to share below, I’d love to hear who’s been most inspirational to you.
